Take a Break with Babette

You can have the chance to attend a master class with Babette on writing and illustrating Children’s Picture Books while staying in one of the most lovely A.A. four–star Farmhouses in Dorset.

If you already have an idea for a picture book, Babette will give you an appraisal  of your work and help you to present it for a publisher.

Almshouse Farm, restored from a sixteenth–century monastery and set in spectacular countryside, offers a warm welcome and traditional Bed and Breakfast. It has two double bedrooms en suite and one twin bedroom with private facilities. Lovely gardens, lounge with colour T.V. and log fire.All within walking distance of Babette’s studio.

There are many local events happening nearby throughout the year, and there are great pubs and amazing places to eat.

Beautiful Dorset has much to offer. The famous Jurassic Coast and The Cerne Abbas Giant are just two of them.

Your visit would start on Friday afternoon or evening settling in at Almshouse Farm. First class dinner in a local pub or restaurant.

Two hour workshop with Babette at her studio. Lunch and perhaps a visit to a local event or beauty spot in the afternoon, followed by dinner at the seaside or nearby in the ancient market town of Sherborne. Then a further night at Almshouse Farm. Should you want to stay longer and enjoy the lovely, surrounding Blackmore Vale countryside with it’s many footpaths and inspiring views further accommodation can be arranged.

The cost per person in £180 + V.A.T.

This includes two nights farmstay with Bed and Breakfast at Almshouse Farm and a two hour master class with Babette.
