Babette Cole will be exhibiting yet unseen original artworks from her children's books during Dorset Arts Weeks, from 24 May to 8 June at Osmond Farm, Holnest Park, near Sherborne, Dorset DT9 HA.  These will include the popular 'The Trouble with Mum' [and with various other relatives] which are an hilarious take on family life, much-loved by readers of all ages.

Babette will be holding her famous Writing and Illustrating workshop on Saturday 24 May and again on Saturday 31 May, 2.30- 3.30pm: tickets £20, maximum 30 adults, must be booked and paid in advance on 01963 210655 or reply@babette-cole.com. Accommodation is available locally.

She will also be running a Funstuff! drawing and reading workshop for children on Tuesday 27 May 2.30–3.30 pm: free, but please book in advance as above.

To support the National Year of Reading, Babette will be making available her DVD on Writing and Illustrating a Children's Picture Book at a special reduced price of £15 and selected books for only £5 at the exhibition.

Dear Miss Cole, I have received your DVD this morning, and I have already watched it. I should say that I loved it, because on this DVD you show everything I wanted to know: the process of the idea’s creation; the "storyboarding" (sketching) of the story; the painting; and, most of all, the way you presents the final, or partially, work to a publisher.

I know that I and my wife are just beginning as writers, but I know that your work (and the DVD) is inspiring, and will help us a lot!

I have and watched my dvd it was great, Babette Cole is wonderful to watch and her drawings are as mad and as fun as she seems to be, (I say that as a compliment) I am sure this dvd will sell as quickly as her books.
