Babette and friends enjoyed a great night out at Michael Rosen’s 70th birthday party at Foyles bookshop in London on Friday night

Other guests included old friends of Babette’s such as John Burningham, Helen Oxenbury and Benjamin Zephania amongst others.

It was a wonderful party, but it ended up being something of a long journey back home to Exeter St Davids station, as all the trains got jammed up at Paddington due to an accident. When they finally got going the train stopped again to rescue a disabled person stuck in a wheelchair in a lift on an unmanned station!

In the end the weary partygoers didn’t get back to Smallands Farm in Devon until 3 am the next morning!
